James Salva & Jack Healy developed "the Scientific Dog Training Method". Also known as the "Healy-Salva Method."

Already successful lecturers and authors on animal behavior - and having obtained substantial grants for K-9 research and development, they were on the forward edge of the profession. There is little wonder that they went on to become the leading animal behaviorists of our time.

The world renowned "Healy-Salva Method of Command Dog Training" - became a reality in the formation of Command Dog Specialists.

It was during the summer of 1966 that a young man came into the academy in search of Mr. Healy. Having been involved in Military, "Schutzhund" and "Show Ring Training" he had become totally disenchanted with what they had to offer. Both men sensed good chemistry immediately. As Mr. Healy later said "We shared the same love for the canine." The young man was James Salva and the results of that first meeting was a long partnership ending only when Mr. Healy passed away from cancer in 1988. The result of this unique partnership insures you the same high standards of excellence that make Command Dogs, what they are today.
